The KaNJI Site

Fifteen minutes a day to kanji fitness, wealth, and great abs!!!

No, but you can make great progress in kanji if you practice here consistently.

The Kanji SITE - A guide for students of Japanese Kanji

www.kanjisite.com/

While katakana and hiragana are included, this site is mostly about practicing reading kanji.

You can choose to practice kanji according to three levels of the JLPT. These are levels 4, 3, and 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, offered throughout Japan and in many other countries.

I click on Start, then
JLPT kanji, then
Level 2, then
Random Testing, then
• Random Level 2 Kanji - All - 15 at a time

But you can just copy this and bookmark it, it you want level 2 practice.
http://www.kanjisite.com/html/start/random/randomkfs2.html

After a few times, you will find things you like and things you don’t. You will find ways to incorporate this into your other kanji practice. And you will be telling your friends about it.

Breen WWWJDIC

Jim Breen WWWJDIC

This week's WebSite HighLight, in the general category of "Japanese language", specifically "Kanji", is a site for kanji - needy folks. There is a wealth of information and it is all free!

http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html

is the address, but I suggest you just search for Breen or WWWJDIC on Google.

The function I usually use is the "Translate Words in Japanese Text" facility. If you have a list of Japanese words, or a piece of text, you can paste it in the TWIJT function, and it will do it in a flash. Your results will be more useful than you often get from Babel Fish.
